RE: ... P L E A S E give us your @Functions and don't hoard them. (Iris) Mike Barlow 10.Jul.01 03:32 PM a Web browser Domino Designer -- @Formulas All ReleasesAll Platforms
Unfortunately Julie, (and I usually don't disagree with you, but) I must question your statement that "As they become safe, they become documented" (unless you can prove me wrong).
There is an "undocumented parameter" for the @Text function which I (and Lotus/Iris)have been using successfully since Notes R2.0.
And that is the "*" parameter.
To use an example, place the following formula in a Computed for Display field...
@Text(@Now; "*")
This renders what almost appears to be a Doc ID (and if you use the following example in another Computed for Display Field...
@Text(@DocumentUniqueID)
You will see that the last 16 digits are virtually identical.
I originally discovered this little nugget by examining the DB's by Replica ID in the catalog.nsf (and it is still there in the first column of the R5.05 version of the Catalog.nsf).
Now granted this is a minor issue, but how come this @Function parameter wasn't documented (I just checked and it is not in the online help for R5.05 for the @Text function)??? If it has been used in the catalog.nsf since Notes R2.x, I would argue that it could be considered "Safe" (or at least as safe as any function).
And if one was missed, one could rightfully wonder how many more there might be.
Julie, I apologize if I have come across as sarcastic, that was NOT my intent. You have been one of the more stalwart companions of us here on Notes Net since as far back as I can remember, and I would never intentionally try to embarrass or offend you in any way, so please accept my apologies if I have...
