table format item is invalid

Lotus Tools -- C++ API 4.6.7 Windows 2000

I have created code with the C++ API tool to turn off case sensitive sorting on all views in a database. The code works on some views and does not work on others. The ones it does not work on I get the following error when trying to open the view in design mode: table format item is invalid. I noticed that the views in which I receive the error have a creation year of 1997 or earlier. If I open and resave the view and then run my code, it works fine. Does this possibly mean that the view was created by another version of notes and thus causes a problem with my code?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
