I decide to separate the SMTP server to another machine. I install a Notes 4.6.6c server and when whe change the SMTP conection and the proxy server administrator change his parameters the incoming mail enter without problem but when we want to sent a mail outside the company the Notes LOG reports the following lines:

19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 Attempting SMTP session with [172.17.0.7]
19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 HELO -- network reply protocol fail error = 501
19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 HELO ARNotes2/ARSA
19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 The peer SMTP host reports that it received bad SMTP command syntax.
19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 Host Name [172.17.0.7] opened failed : Bad response to HELO : Invalid domain name
19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 smtp_open() reports a permanent error.
19/07/2002 23.07.05 SMTPMTA: oseshlr0 Error description --> Bad response to HELO : Invalid domain name
19/07/2002 23.07.08 SMTPMTA: osesctl Received message notification

The users that send a mail receive a delivery failure with the following information:

Unrecoverable failure in SMTP protocol communication, HELO.
