Computed field contents depends on another field?

I know this is somewhere in the forum but have looked and can't find it. Probably because I'm not using the right terms. Apologies for that.
I have 2 fields.
CustomerName field looks up to a view (Manage Customers) that contains the customer name and number. The user chooses the correct customer name. Field Type: Dialog List, Editable, and uses a View Dialog for choices (Manage Customers) Column 1.
CustomerNumber field is set to be computed and should populate the customer number in Column 2 of the Manage Customers view.
I'm pretty sure this can be done with an @ Formula but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated.
