Hi,
I have a set up where I have a Notes 5.0.2c server and client installed on the same machine in different directories. To make it work correctly I have deleted the notes.ini files from the client directories and pointed the shortcuts that open the clients to the server notes.ini file.
This is the correct (in as much as this kind of thing is supported by Lotus) setup for doing this (ref: "Lotus Notes & Domino R5" Schwartz et al).
This works OK in every respect. However, when I set an environment variable when an application is running on the client (or as if it was running on the client if the configuration was a standard one), the notes.ini file on the server is modified to record this variable, this is expected. However, if I modify the notes.ini and make the variable something different manually in between the time the variable is set and the time it is used, the process that reads the variable does so as if I never changed it.
My question is; is there another place the variable is stored, and if the answer is no then does anyone know what's going on?
Cheers,
Steve.
