I have two users who almost every time they access their Lotus Notes client the hard drive goes into a disk thrash. If the client is closed (usually by ending all the Notes processes) the thrashing stops. I've tried reinstalling the Lotus client (5.0.10) and replacing the computer (Dell Optiplex GX270 running Windows XP Pro). At the moment one workstation is running without a pagefile (excessive pagefile swapping is what I suspect is causing the thrashing) and the other requires that I manually end the nupdate.exe process after Notes is opened. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? I've looked into nupdate.exe as the cause but I can't find anything definitive on the Internet (although I see that others are experiencing the same problem). Both databases are quite large (2 GB or better but this is not a problem for other users) and there is no indexing.
