I've read through the Notes admin help and searched here - found some hints but not full answers. Note getting admin training until August and need some help befor then.
Two questions:
Do dir links work if Domino is running as a service?
Can the OS file permissions for the linked directory be set to 'no access' or 'read only'(to prevent users browsing the directory and running the dbs as local) AND the dbs still work as intended within the Notes environment (ie db is read/write, users rights determined by ACL, not OS file settings)?
If not, how does one set up a linked directory so user's cannot see the dbs from Windows explorer but still run the dbs?
Pointers to resources are appreciated, full answers would be great.
