The attached white paper is an overview of the two main components that make up IBM's technical strategy for social business -- the Social Business Framework and the Social Business Toolkit. It covers the social capabilities that are being developed for the Framework as well as the standards-based mechanisms the Toolkit provides for integrating with the Framework.
 

About the authors

Scott Prager is an IBM Distinguished Engineer responsible for the social business technical strategy and its focus on integration, innovation and extensibility across the IBM social software portfolio. Scott previously led the creation and evolution of IBM Connections from its inception through early 2010, following a year at Lotus' Dublin Software Lab in Ireland and a decade before that driving Lotus' Enterprise Integration strategy. Scott joined Lotus in late 1994 with the acquisition of Edge Research Inc., a company he cofounded. Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT.


Peter Van de Graaf is a Strategy Program Director for IBM Collaboration Solutions division.  He is responsible for business strategy on several key growth initiatives  including: Social Mail, Social Collaboration Microsoft integration, Social Media Monitoring and Engagement.
