Let people who share a common interest to interact with one another. You can retrieve community information, subscribe to community updates, and create or modify communities. Open Authorization (OAuth) is required when using the IBM Connections Cloud™ implementation of the Communities APIs.

Connections Cloud supports the Communities APIs that are provided in IBM® Connections 3.0.1. Connections Cloud also supports the IBM Connections Forums APIs for creating, retrieving, updating, and deleting forum topics.

Note the following minor differences when using the Connections Cloud implementation of the IBM Connections Communities and Forums APIs:

  • Getting and setting intent for community members is not supported. This option applies to the Allow people from outside of my organization to become members of this community option in the Connections Cloud user interface.
  • Getting and setting the community business owner is supported.

For details about the IBM Connections Communities APIs, see IBM Connections 4.0 Communities API.
Also see Working with community forums for information about using Forums APIs.
