Connections Cloud supports action UI extensions. Generally, an action extension displays in the UI as a menu option or button that links to the partner application. When a user clicks the link, the browser redirects to a new web page in either the current window or a new window. The web page may or may not be hosted on the Connections Cloud server.
Action extensions can receive contextual data parameters as request parameters on the URL that is specified for the extension. Contextual data parameters include information such as the subscriber ID of the current user.
Determining scopesParent topic: Application integration for IBM Connections Cloud
When setting user interface (UI) extensions, first determine the type of scope required for each extension. IBM Connections Cloud
offers both global and organization scopes.
Defining user interface extensions
Use the IBM Connections Cloud
administration page to define user interface (UI) extensions for your organization. Only users with the administer role can create UI extensions.
Using the JSON extension configuration file
Supported extension points
Partners can add and manage their own user interface (UI) extensions UI so that they show up at predefined locations in the UI. The places that can be extended are called extension points.
