If you see an error message when attempting to connect to the service after running the Lotus Notes client configuration tool, use the following table to troubleshoot
the problem.
 

Error message Likely explanation Action to take
    ID in vault has download count of zero.

    or

    The 5-day limit on downloading a SmartCloud Notes ID or new password from the ID vault has expired.
If seen after running the client configuration tool, these messages indicate that the 5-day limit on downloading a Notes ID from the service has been exceeded. The ID is required to access a SmartCloud Notes mail server. Ask your company administrator to reset your Lotus Notes password. Then be sure to use the new password within 5 days to log on to Lotus Notes to connect to your SmartCloud Notes mail server.
Server not responding The computer cannot connect to the service. Try any of these actions to correct the problem. If you are still not successful, contact your company administrator.
  • Make sure your computer is connected to the network.
  • Make sure your virtual private network (VPN) connection is functioning, if you use one.
