When you attempt to share an application in a SmartCloud meeting (original), the screen hangs at “Starting application sharing...”. You have verified that the meeting plug-in is installed correctly.
If you collect and review the wd_plugin*.log from the %temp% directory on the workstation, you note the following error:
Date 08:36:05.282 7896:2704 : ERROR CWD_HTTP::PostGetWorker -
SendRequest failed -
chURL[/locale/getresource.asp?xml=en-US&node=APPSHARE]
GetLastError[12057]
Cause
The error 12057 is defined as follows:
“ERROR_WINHTTP_SECURE_CERT_REV_FAILED 12057
Indicates that revocation cannot be checked because the revocation server was offline.”
This error occurs when the web browser cannot connect to the appropriate server to check the browser's SSL certificates. The problem is not with the SmartCloud Meeting.
Solution
To bypass the error condition so you can share your screen, use the following steps in Microsoft Internet Explorer to disable the check with the revocation server:
-
Select Tools > Internet Options, then go to the Advanced tab.
-
Clear (uncheck) the option “Check for server certificate revocation.”
-
Restart Internet Explorer.
-
Join the meeting again.
The error is likely to be a one-time occurrence, due to temporary interruptions in Internet connectivity or a server outage. You can restore the option “Check for server certificate revocation” at a later time. If the problem occurs continually, you should investigate for connectivity problems for this workstation.
