Problem: When trying to share applications that utilize overlay windows such a Avaya Communicator on Windows XP in a web meeting, participants in the meeting may not be able to see that specific shared application.
Solution: The meeting hosts' computer should be updated as follows:
-Open the Windows XP registry by selecting Start, Run from the windows Start menu and typing regedit and selecting OK.
-In the registration editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AppShare\
-Look to see if there is an existing parameter named: UseCaptureBlt if Not, add this parameter by right clicking on the Appshare item on the left navigator and selecting New and selecting DWORD value.
-Type in UseCaptureBlt in the new entry, then double click the entry and add the value as 1
-Close the registry editor and restart the meeting. If the host is using a higher resolution display, above 1024x768, it may be required that the host select the Best Image option when starting application sharing to ensure that the images are not resized and the new registry parameter is utilized.
