In this exercise, you will configure an additional internet domain for use with IBM SmartCloud™ Notes®.

Overview

If your company owns more than one Internet domain, you can configure IBM SmartCloud Notes (SmartCloud Notes) to use them in addition to the Internet domain you specified during the account setup procedure. This is an optional task that can be performed at any time.

Note: It may take up to 48 hours to set up and verify an additional Internet domain.

Objectives

After completing this exercise, you should be able to:
  • Add an additional Internet domain for the IBM SmartCloud for Social Business (SmartCloud for Social Business) service to use.

Procedure

  1. Log into the service and navigate to the IBM SmartCloud Notes Administration panel.
  2. For detailed steps, see the procedure document Accessing the SmartCloud Notes Administration pages
  3. Click Account Settings
    On the IBM SmartCloud Notes Administration panel, click the Account Settings link
  4. Click Internet Domains.
    From the left navigation pane, click the Internet Domains link
    ..
  5. Click the Add Internet Domain button.
    Click the Add Internet Domain button
  6. Enter your additional internet domain name and click Save.
    Enter your additional internet domain name and click the Save button

  7. Your domain has been added. Before it is ready for use, you need to configure the MX record for the domain and verify ownership of the domain. See the Next Steps section below for more information.

Troubleshooting

ProblemResolution
I added a second Internet domain. Can I remove it?Yes. Click the Internet domain name and then click Remove.

Important: Although you can remove a domain that is already configured, verified and in use, this should be done rarely, if ever.
