) is a secure, full-featured mail service that includes calendaring, contacts for web, a desktop, and mobile capabilities. SmartCloud Notes
features Web-based collaboration services combined with social networking. Features include instant messaging, mobile, cloud or on-premises computing, or both.
When you deploy the SmartCloud Notes
service as a hybrid environment, it functions as a virtual extension of your on-premises IBM
® domain configuration. With a hybrid environment, company administrators continue to manage users and groups using the on-premises tools with which they are familiar.

|Hybrid Environment||A SmartCloud Notes hybrid environment allows integration between your on-premises systems and the cloud. Replicating your Domino directory to the cloud provides for a seamless integration between environments. You can continue to serve end users with your on-premises systems while serving other users in the cloud, in a way that is completely transparent to people inside and outside your company.|
- Log on to https://www.ibmcloud.com/social using the e-mail address and password of a user with the Administrator role.
- If your account also has the User role, click Administration -> Manage Organization at the top of the dashboard.
- Click IBM Notes from the left navigation pane. On the IBM SmartCloud Notes screen, select the Hybrid Environment checkbox and click Set Up My Account.
- Click Continue.
- You are ready to configure your Hybrid environment when the "Setup your SmartCloud Notes account" screen appears. Before you configure your Hybrid environment, it is recommended that you run the Pre-configuration Test Tool.
