The company administrator can make various updates to each user's IBM SmartCloud
® for Social Business (SmartCloud for Social Business) account. In this exercise, you will learn how to edit a user's account information, including the roles, language, and department.
After completing this exercise, you should be able to:
- Edit an IBM SmartCloud Notes® (SmartCloud Notes) user's account.
IBM® SmartCloud for Social Business user account
An account that allows a customer to access IBM SmartCloud for Social Business and subscribe to several services including, but not limited to SmartCloud Notes, SmartCloud Engage, and SmartCloud Meetings.
IBM SmartCloud Notes subscription
A SmartCloud for Social Business subscription that provides a user with access to the SmartCloud Notes mail service.

1. Log on to the service using the e-mail address and password of a SmartCloud Notes
user with the Administrator role.
2. If your user account also has the User role, click Administration
-> Manage Organization
on the action bar at the top. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
3. From the left navigation pane, click User Accounts
4. Click the arrow next to the user's name that you would like to edit.
5. Select Edit User Account
in the drop-down menu.
6. The Edit User page opens. There are three sections; User Information, Subscriptions and Account Login. Using this page, you can edit the user's information related to their SmartCloud for Social Business account and SmartCloud Notes
Other values are also editable. Refer to the following table for important tips.
When you change these fields, the user's name associated with their account gets updated. These fields have no bearing on the user's IBM Notes
common name. You must use the on-premises IBM Domino
® environment to change a user's IBM Notes
As noted in the text under the Name fields shown in the image below, you must use the Domino
Administrator to change a user's Distinguished name, which is the name seen in many cases in the address fields in Notes
mail. For example, Jane Doe/LLNTrain2.

If you change the language for a user, using the Edit User page shown below, the user interface and some aspects of the mail file will be changed to display that language. To change all aspects of the user's mail file to a different language, you must also change the user's mail template to that language.
A user must have at least one role assigned (Administrator or User or User Account Assistant), and may have more than one selected if needed.

subscription from a user.

extra that may be selected for a User, if your company has purchased the offering. E-mail Archive Essentials is a Subscription Add-on that archives mail for the user. It may be selected for the user, if your company has purchased the offering.

7. Click Finish at the bottom of the Account Login section of the Edit User page when you are finished making the changes for the user.

If the user's mail file is still not displaying correctly after completing these steps, clear out the browser's cookies and temporary Internet files, restart the browser, and have the user test again.
