Grant your company applications access to IBM SmartCloud for Social Business™. A company application is any application used by your organization that is not available by default on SmartCloud for Social Business.
By registering company applications with SmartCloud for Social Business, you make them available to your organization's users.
To work with SmartCloud for Social Business and your company's application, that application must first be registered with SmartCloud for Social Business.
Users access the registered application as normal, but the application can now interact with SmartCloud for Social Business.
For example, a user could post a file on the application which can then be made available from SmartCloud for Social Business.
Company application registration is implemented using the OAuth protocol with Key and Secret pairs
Use the following steps to register an application. You must
have Administrator role added to your account Settings before you can perform the following steps:
Step 1. Log on SmartCloud for Social Business using your credentials

: If you do not see the Administrator tab left to your name you do not have Administrator role.
Step 2. Click Administration:
You’ll get a screen like this:

Step 3. Click Manage Company Apps - that will take you to the next screen:

Step 4. Click Register App and a popup dialog it will prompt you to enter some information:

Enter a name and description for the application when prompted. The application name cannot exceed 50 characters, and the application description cannot exceed 1000 characters.
During registration, your application will be assigned a key and secret. Registered applications are displayed in Manage Custom Apps.
After registering your application, it may become necessary to reset the key and secret pair.
For example, these values should be reset if you suspect they have been compromised.
Step 5. You can edit properties of an existing application by clicking the menu next to the application and selecting Edit properties:

: You can see that after registering a new application, your application will get a unique App ID.
Step 6. To view the OAuth key and secret pair for an application you pop-up the same dialog (see Fig.5) and select Get Credentials:

Step 7. To reset the key and secret, click the menu for the appropriate application and select Reset Credentials:
Step 8. To revoke your application's access to SmartCloud for Social Business, click the menu for the appropriate application and select Delete app:

Hint: Once you’ve accepted to delete the Application, you have to reregister it!
