Question: Is it possible to explicitly define multiple email addresses for the same user?
Answer: No. Attempts to assign multiple email addresses per user will fail during provisioning with the following error:
dom_mail: Found revoked user with matching notesDN but with different subscriber ID.
Cannot add this user |
Workaround: Utilize the Group functionality of SmartCloud Notes to specify additional email addresses across the established domains setup in the SmartCloud Notes environment..
-Login to www.ibmcloud.com/social as administrator to create a new SmartCloud Notes Group. For details on managing SmartCloud Notes groups please review the following article,
http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/bhwiki.nsf/xpDocViewer.xsp?lookupName=Administering+SmartCloud+Notes%3A+Service-only+Environment#action=openDocument&res_title=Managing_groups_SO&content=pdcontent (service-only environment). Note: Groups are created on-premises in a hybrid environment.
For example, if your SmartCloud Notes user details are:
User: Tim Test
User Email: tim_test@mycompany.com
Create a group with the following details:
Group: tim_test
Group Email: ttest@mycompany2.com
Important: You must be careful to make sure the notesDN does not conflict.
This way, the user will be sending their mails from
tim_test@mycompany.com, and will receive email sent to both
tim_test@mycompany.com and ttest@mycompany2.com. Emails sent to either address should come into the tim_test@mycompany.com inbox.
