If you use a service-only environment, the service filters spam that is mailed to users in the service. However, if you think that a user received spam, use the following procedure to report it.

If you use a service-only environment, the service filters spam received from the Internet. However, if you think that a has user received spam, use the following procedure to report it.

About this task

  • Report spam to help reduce its occurrence in the future.
  • The service does not treat newsletters, event invitations, or anti-spam quarantine reports as spam.
  • Do not report spam if you use a hybrid environment. In a hybrid environment, customers are responsible for managing on-premises spam filtering on incoming Internet mail that is routed to users in the service.
To report spam in a service-only environment, perform the following procedure.

Procedure

  1. Perform one of the following steps to save the spam message as an .eml file:
    • From the web client, select the spam message, click More -> Show MIME Full, select all, copy the entire contents to a text file, and save the file with the extension .eml.
    • From Lotus Notes®, drag the spam message to the desktop. The message is automatically saved as an .eml file.
  2. Attach the .eml file to a new message.
  3. Mail the new message to one of the following addresses:
    • If you want to receive a confirmation email from the service, send the message to spam.smartcloud.feedback@kassel.ibm.com
    • If you do not want to receive a confirmation email, send the message to spam@kassel.ibm.com
