No. These values are independent and are not related to each other in any way.
- During account setup for SmartCloud Notes, the administrator must specify a value for Default Time Zone.
- The first time that the SmartCloud Notes user logs using a web browser, they must change their password. Then the user is taken to the the "SmartCloud Account Update" screen where they can select a country, language, and time zone. The Timezone shown in this screen shows "GMT Greenwich Mean Time (Bamako)".
The Default Time Zone selected during Account Setup for SmartCloud Notes is considered the 'corporate time zone value'.
The Default Time Zone takes effect when the user first logs in to SmartCloud NOTES offering (Web or Notes client) and will be the timezone used for scheduling meetings and for mail timestamps in SmartCloud NOTES.
In SmartCloud Notes web mail, if the OS timezone is different than the SmartCloud Notes Default Time Zone, the user will receive a message that says "Your timezone setting is different than your operating system's current one. You can change your time zone setting in Calendar preferences." The user can optionally change the default timezone via the preferences (Preferences-Calendar-General).
