=== Searching for names in organisation directory with mix of accented characters and accents omitted

When searching for users in the organisation directory the people finder suggests results as you type a name.
The organisation directory people finder search may not return matched results if the user inaccurately types an accented name with a mix of accented characters and characters with accents omitted.

Work-around:
The organisation directory the people finder will return a matched result if,
a name containing accented characters is typed in accurately (all accents in name being typed eg. "Stãcî Äççèñtëd")
a name containing accented characters is typed without any accented characters (eg. "Staci Accented")

XMLHTTP must be enabled in Internet Explorer (161968)

If content is not displaying in Connections Cloud through an Internet Explorer browser, check to be sure XMLHTTP is enabled. Connectoins Cloud will not function properly if XMLHTTP is not enabled in an Internet Explorer browser.

Workaround

Select Enable native XMLHTTP support in the Advanced tab of the Internet Options dialog.

Searching for Japanese characters will only work correctly with Japanese User settings

In order for search to work correctly for Japanese characters the users language settings must be Japanese. Search tokenizes different languages in different ways so when search indexes it will separate strings into tokens depending on the language settings. So for example if your language settings are English and you create some Japanese content, the Japanese content will be tokenized in English. When you then try to search for the string in Japanese search may not be able to match the tokens.

Tag is truncated to 50 characters (17 DBCS) without warning (42337)

When creating a tag with more than 17 DBCS characters, the information is truncated and not saved. No error message is received.

All tags over 50 characters (17 DBCS characters) will be truncated at 50 characters prior to being saved.

Workaround
Limit your tags to 50 characters (17 DBCS characters).

Top banner does not display properly (43148)

When using the Safari v3.2.x browser on Mac operating systems v10.5.x, the top banner does not display properly on the personal settings page, some administration panel pages, and from the Web Mail mail service.

Workaround
Upgrade to a later version of Safari, if possible, or use a different browser that is supported by Connections Cloud and by your operating system.

User receives error after administrator changes their email address (41951)

If you try to access Communities or Activities immediately after an administrator changed your email address, you will receive an error. The user repository needs time to process the change.

Workaround
None. The issue resolves itself after about a minute.

User entitlements additions or removals are not immediately reflected in the user interface (56913)

The user interface displays the services to which a user is entitled. If your company administrator adds or removes services to your account while you are logged in, the user interface will not reflect those changes for a few minutes. The user interface improves end user performance by limiting how often end user entitlements are checked. While the entitlement is immediately provided or revoked based on company administrator action, the current set of entitlements will continue to be displayed in the user interface until the next time the server does an efficient entitlement check. If you navigate directly to a newly entitled service directly through a URL, you will be successful. If you try to navigate to a removed entitlement, you will be blocked because access checks are done immediately.

Workaround
Wait a few minutes and the user interface will reflect the changes.

Login and logout event missing from journaling when the user is deleted (66257)

If a user logged in to the system using the login page then that user account is immediately deleted from the system, any login and logout events of the user that may have happened within the 12 minutes before account deletion will be missing from journaling.

Error message displays in a federated environment when you view an RSS feed for Connections Cloud applications (76028)

Viewing SmartCloud Connections RSS feeds in federated environments is not supported - deployments where you can log in once to visit several websites. If you subscribe to an RSS feed, you might be challenged by password authentication or an error message when you try to view RSS feeds from Connections Cloud applications such as Activities, Communities, and Files.

Workaround

Cannot read Smartcloud feeds in chrome (100067)

Workaround
In order to read Smartcloud feeds in chrome users will need to add the following feed reader to chrome
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rss-feed-reader/pnjaodmkngahhkoihejjehlcdlnohgmp?hl=en

Users can then subscribe to smartcloud feeds.

Activities

When creating Activity Entry bookmarks, unsafe URI patterns are not saved

Data that can represent a XSS attack, if identified, is stripped from bookmark field.
e.g. javascript:// is considered dangerous and can allow XSS hacking.
javascript://abc will be converted to about:blank when saving a bookmark. Other dangerous patterns will be converted in similar pattern.

While attempting to start or save an entry with a tag over 128 bytes in Activities, you receive an error message " is too long." Also known as browser error 500

Workaround:
Keep Activity entry tags at 128 bytes or less.

Downloading a file from Activities that contains more than 50 bytes of Unicode characters in the file name loses some characters (50078)

This issue applies only to Internet Explorer 6 and 7. If a file contains more than 50 bytes of Unicode characters, or certain characters such as spaces (approximately 15-25 non-Latin characters), Internet Explorer will only use the last 50 bytes of the file name. This results in a file name with missing characters from the beginning, and in some cases garbled characters in the beginning such as "%3E".

Workaround:
When using Internet Explorer 6 or 7, shorten the file name to be smaller than the limit imposed by the browser.

Long description in activity entries and goals cannot be exported to CSV file (SPR #SYEE8E9VQ9)

If an activity entry or goal has more than 2K of data, only the first 2K of text can be exported to the CSV file using the Export Activity feature.

Workaround: None.

User is able to link to an internal file from an external activity (77694)

Internal files and folders can be linked to an external activity; however, only the members of the activity who have access to the file or folder can actually view the contents of the file or folder. The members who do not have access to the file or folder will get an Access Denied message.
Workaround: None

Soft-Deleted community-activities do not appear in the Activities Trash view (126754)

The Communities application now has a Trash view where communities that have been Soft-Deleted appear until they are permanently deleted (or restored). If the soft-deleted Community contains a community activity, the soft-deleted "community activity" will not appear in the Activities' Trash view. Only stand-alone activities that have been deleted appear in the Activities Trash view. This is new behaviour. In past releases, community-activities from a deleted Community would appear in the Activities Trash view.

Workaround
None.

Administration

Suppressing email notifications

Administrators can suppress some email notifications only through the admin API or programmatically through the Integration Server (LLIS). When working in the administrator user interface, administrators can't suppress email notifications when performing any of these tasks:

  • Add accounts
  • Resend all expired invitations
  • Resend passwords
  • Add third party apps
  • Delete accounts
  • Suspend accounts

Email Notification is sent when FEDERATED user is changed to MODIFIED_FEDERATED with SUPPRESS_ALL flag set

An email is sent even when emails are suppressed in the following instance:

1. You have a Partially federated customer with LLIS setup ready and you have have a subscription for Collaboration.
2. You then create a FEDERATED user from LLIS with subscription for Collaboration.
3. You then update this customer to federation type MODIFIED_FEDERATED with SUPPRESS_ALL flag set.
4. Email is sent even though emails are suppressed.

Workaround: None.

An important account cannot be used when registering a user (102480)

Always Add and Edit users one at a time on the User Accounts page. Adding or editing multiple users at the same time is not supported except through the integration server process. A Customer Administrator should not use different windows or tabs of the same browser to add or edit more than one user at a time. The users' information is shared across browser windows or tabs and changes made in one window may be modifying the user viewed in the other.

Workaround: Always add or edit one user at a time. To request integration server enablement for use in adding or editing multiple users simultaneously, see the Integration server section of Administration help.

When attempting to purchase the Notes Entry service offering online, the Blackberry BES service add-on option in incorrectly listed for that offering. (84549)

The Notes Entry offering does not support the Blackberry BES service as an add-on subscription at this time. In a company that has purchased Notes, Notes Entry and BES add-ons, the administrator is able to choose the BES add-on for a Notes Entry user in the Add and Edit user pages, but they will not be allowed to save their changes. The administrator will see a "Failed to Edit User" message.

Workaround
To avoid the error the administrator should remove the BES add-on selection for Notes Entry customers and save the changes.

When a company administrator attempts to delete an account with a Connections Cloud subscription and assign the content associated with the account to another company user with a different subscription level (example Connections Social Cloud) the account deletion will fail. (77503)

When an administrator deletes a Connections Cloud user account, or removes the Connections Cloud subscription from a user, they have the option to assign that user's content to another user. If they assign an Connections Cloud user's content to a Connections Social Cloud user, the Connections Cloud user will not be successfully deleted and the data will not be reassigned.

Workaround
Always assign content from user account to another user with the same subscription level.

Changing the email of a PENDING user can result in the loss of content (75834)

When an administrator changes the account identity email address of a Pending user, the system deletes that user and creates a new one with the new email address. This means any data that was assigned to that user will be deleted.

Workaround
Wait until the user activates their account before assigning content to them.

Case-specific integration server constraint for changetype in directory integration change files (70406)

For directory integration change files, the integration server does not process changetype operations where the changetype name contains a capital letter. For example, changetype "Add" entries are ignored but changetype "add" entries are processed.

Workaround: Use lower case characters for changetype specifications in directory integration change files.

FTP clients may not support the current integration and migration site use of SSL encryption on FTPS operations (78168)

Some FTP clients, such as the FileZilla 3.5.3 FTP client, have removed support for the SSL_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA cipher suite (also known as DES-CBC3-SHA). This effectively prevents successful connection and transfer of files between such FTP sites and the integration and migration site. The integration and migration site facilitates user provisioning change file and directory integration change file FTP upload from an organization's on-premise environment to the cloud-based integration server.
Note: See the "FTP file transfer of change files and associated results files" topic in the Integration server section of the administrator help for related information.

Workaround: Use an earlier version of your FTP client, or some other FTP client that supports the SSL_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA cipher suite (also known as DES-CBC3-SHA). The integration and migration site can be accessed with FTP clients that support SSL_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA (also known as DES-CBC3-SHA).

ftp.na.collabserv.com, ftp.ap.collabserv.com, or ftp.ce.collabserv.com.

Extension definitions for "Dashboard" no longer supported (121981)

The Extensions administration page allows organizations to define user interface extensions (for example, to add links to the Apps menu for users in their organization). When definining an extension, "Dashboard" is one of the listed extension point options. However, the Dashboard page has been replaced by a new Homepage and this new Homepage does not support extensions at this time. Unfortunately, the Extension administration page still offers an option to create "Dashboard" extensions. The Dashboard option should no longer be used as Dashboard extensions are ignored.

Community Surveys

size limits

You cannot have more than 1000 data items in your survey
Each data item in a Community Surveys has a size limit. For example:
Text answer: one Line – 200 bytes
Text answer: Multiple lines – Community Surveys uses a CLOB data type to store the value of each multiple line entry data item. The limit to the number of characters stored in a CLOB is dependent on language and character set. The English limit is approximately 1 million characters. If the content of any given multiple line field exceeds the database allowance, you see a "500 Internal Server Error" message, and form submission fails. The full message is stored in the system log files.
Currency/Number – 8 bytes
If you receive the error The row length of the table exceeded a limit of 32677 bytes. (Table space .). SQLCODE=-670, your survey exceeds the maximum size. You must remove items from the survey , or break the survey into multiple surveys.

Web Mail cannot use a Notes address to send an email message

When using Web Mail to send or receive email messages, traditional email addresses (for example, name@us.ibm.com) are used. Notes addresses (for example, Name/New York/IBM) are not used.

When you use Lotus Notes 8.x to export contacts in the .csv format, however the email address is stored (either Notes or email address) is how the email address is exported. When you use the .csv file to import these contacts into Web Mail, if the email address was stored in the .csv file, it is stored in the Email address field. However, if the Notes address was stored in the .csv file, it is stored in the Notes field. When sending emails in Web Mail, the email address specified in the Email address field is used. Web Mail cannot use a Notes address to send an email.

Workaround
Lotus Notes 8.5.x and later users should export contacts in the vCard (.vcf) format. No workaround is available for users of earlier versions of Lotus Notes.

Issues with searching

Occasionally, search results may not be immediately available in Web Mail. We are reindexing your search index and your results will be available in a few minutes. Please try your search again in a few minutes.
Searching across folders with names starting with "-" or other special characters might return unexpected results. If you create a folder name with special characters, put mail into the new folder, rename the new folder, and then search email in that folder, the old name with the special characters as well as the new folder name are displayed when providing search results. Special characters that will cause problems include: + - & | ! ( ) { } [ ] ^ " ~ * ? : \ && ||
Unexpected results returned when using a foldername starting with "-" and then searching after renaming the folder. If a folder name is created using a hyphen at the beginning of the name, and email is moved to that folder, renaming that folder returns unexpected results from a search for that email. Both the new name and the original name containing the hyphen are returned from the search.

Refresh your search results page after deleting a spam message

When you search your email and delete a spam message from the search results, refresh the search results page to update the number of messages listed. You might have to refresh the page more than once to see the updated results.

The date selection feature for Out-of-Office notification operates independently from your Weeks start with calendar preference setting

If you update your Weeks start with calendar preference setting to a value other than the default value, the changes are not reflected in the Out-of-Office mini calendar view. Use caution when selecting dates for Out-of-Office notification.

Selecting attributes for new email message text when using the Rich Text Editor

When using the Rich Text Editor to compose a new email message, you might observe one or more of the following: the formatting for an inserted link cannot be edited, if you paste formatted text from another application, errors might occur, if you select text formatting, such as font size, bold, or italics, text you enter does not reflect the selected formatting, if you select white as the default background color, black is displayed in the sample color box.

Workaround
Enter all email message text and then select the desired attributes, for example, font size, color and bold. To format your message text, for example, with bullets or numbering, select the text you want to format and then select the desired formatting options. If you want to copy and paste text from Microsoft Word or formatted text from another application, select the desired attributes after pasting the text.

Emails might be truncated for some users

If you are using other software, such as Microsoft Word, to generate email content that you want to copy to a Web Mail email, make sure you do not specify a negative margin value for your email text. Specifying a negative margin value can result in the message text being truncated when you send the email message. In this case, the recipient of your email might not be able to view the entire email.

This can occur in the following environments:
- Windows XP
- Windows 7
- Internet Explorer 7
- Internet Explorer 8

Workaround
If you experience this issue, you can set up IMAP access to read the email using another email client, such as Outlook.

When printing from Internet Explorer 6, not all content is included in the print out

When content is cropped, it is not printed. This problem is related to the Internet Explorer 6 browser and cannot be fixed by the email offering.

Workaround

When the Adobe Flash Player plugin is installed, you can simultaneously attach multiple files to a message.

Using Opera browsers

For the supported Opera browsers, when you create or reply to Web Mail email messages, the rich text editor capabilities that you find when using other browsers are not available. A text area is available for use.

Problem sending email messages with Opera 10.51

If you use Opera 10.51 to send email messages, when you click Send, one of two problems might occur:

1. The message is not sent and the Compose page continues to be displayed.
2. An error message is displayed. The message indicates that a problem has occurred and you need to save your work before continuing.

Workaround
Use a different version of the Opera browser. This problem has not been recreated with any of the other supported Opera browsers.

Subject or contents of email not displaying correctly

The Web Mail email messaging service is compliant with the RFC MIME message standard. If you receive an email that does not conform to this standard, for example, missing information in the email body, you might see corrupted email contents when displaying the email.

Emails not being received due to settings specified by email service provider

Email sent from a Web Mail account to an external account might be blocked due to filter settings specified by the recipient's email service provider.

Workaround

Calendar

Date on calendar highlighted incorrectly when creating an event

While creating a new calendar event, if the operating system time zone is different from the time zone of the user who logs into Web Mail, the date highlighted on the calendar might be different from the date you selected for the event start date.

Workaround
None. Be aware of the date that is selected when creating an event.

Unsupported message from Notes meeting invitation

You are sent a repeating meeting invitation from a Notes user. After you accept the invitation, the Notes user changes the time of one of the instances. The result is that Web Mail will post a message that this is an unsupported message from Notes.

Workaround
None

"Keep me informed of updates" option is ignored when a Web Mail invite is declined by a recipient using Lotus Notes

A Web Mail invite is sent to a recipient using Lotus Notes. The recipient declines the invite but selects the option "Keep me informed of updates". If subsequent changes are made to the original invite, the recipient is not informed.

Workaround
None

Repeating meeting response information from a repeating Notes calendar does not display

You send a repeating meeting invitation to a Notes user. The Notes user accepts it and sends you a response. When you open the response message, the meetings description information does not display.

Workaround
None

Scheduling and responding to repeating meeting invitations with Notes users

When you schedule a repeating meeting and include Notes users on your invitee list, responses from Notes users are reflected in your calendar, but the email notification you receive might not contain response details for all the meeting instances. When scheduling a repeating meeting, request a response from all invitees for all instances of the meeting. This ensures that you are up-to-date on attendance status for each instance of your meeting. If you receive an updated meeting invitation from a Notes user, the email notification you receive might not contain response details for all meeting instances, but you can respond to the updated invitation, even if you declined the original invitation.

In the following scenario the date displayed in the calendar event might be incorrect

The wrong date is displayed in calendar entries when all of the following conditions are met:
Web Mail is used to send a calendar entry to a Lotus Notes user.
The person who creates the calendar entry is using a computer where the operating system is referencing a different locale and date-time format than the person who receives the calendar entry.

Workaround
On the system where Lotus Notes is installed, change the operating system date-time format and locale to match the locale and date-time format on the Web Mail system. You can also work around the problem by comparing the date and time format on the invitation. If the start date occurs after the end date, the end date has been incorrectly identified. To resolve the problem, specify the correct end date.

Repeating meetings are canceled when one instance is canceled

You are sent a repeating meeting invitation from a Notes user. After you accept the invitation, the Notes user cancels one of the instances. The result is that all instances of the repeating meeting are canceled.

Workaround
None

Meeting dates might not be displayed in an updated meeting notice

If you schedule a repeating meeting and then remove an invitee from all instances of the repeating meeting, that invitee receives an updated meeting notice. In some cases, the meeting dates are not displayed. This can also occur if you cancel all instances of the repeating meeting.

Time zone differences between operating system and calendar functions

If the operating system time zone is different from the time zone of the user who logs on to Web Mail, when the Web Mail user goes to the calendar to create a new event, the date highlighted on the calendar might be different from the date selected when you select a start date for the event.

Personal calendar naming convention

Your personal calendar is labeled either 'Personal Calendar' or with your user name, depending on when your account was set up. If your first name and last name cannot be retrieved, then the LOCAL PART of your email address is used instead of 'Personal Calendar'. You can edit the name and description of your personal calendar. If you delete the title of your personal calendar, the title reverts to 'No title'.

Unable to send/respond to an invite to/from an iOS device

If you send an invitation and the invitation is viewed on an iOS device, no response can be sent from the iOS device.
If you create an event in a secondary or corporate calendar on an iOS device, the 'invitee' field will be ignored on the iOS device.

Users authorized as Authors cannot edit events on shared calendars using iOS4.x

On iOS4.x, if you view an invitation from another user in a calendar owned by a third user, you cannot respond or edit the event.

Ghost events are not shown as ghost events if you are not the owner of the calendar

If you are following a calendar owned by another user, invitations sent to the owner of the calendar do not show up as ghost events for you.

When Daylight Saving Time (DST) occurs during a calendar event, the event is displayed incorrectly in the day and week views under specific conditions

When creating an event on the day that daylight saving time starts or ends, event information, such as the duration, start time, and end time, might be displayed incorrectly in your calendar for that event. The incorrect information might be seen in the Day, Week, or Month view of your calendar. Information is displayed correctly when the event is opened.

Contacts and Profiles

Unexpected error message displayed while importing corporate contacts

While importing a large number of corporate contacts, an error message might be displayed. Disregard this error message because the import process is still running. Allow time for the import process to complete. Once the import process is complete, you can verify that the new corporate contacts have been added to the corporate directory.

Exported contacts vcf file can't be imported to Outlook 2003 correctly

Limitations with export formats and email clients:
When exporting to Comma Separated Value (.csv) format: email address, phone, and address categories might be altered. For example, a work phone number might be saved as home or mobile information. Non-ASCII characters cannot be imported into Outlook.
When exporting to vCard (.vcf) format: only the first contact is imported in Outlook.
Exporting to vCard (.vcf) format is suggested for importing to and backing up Web Mail. vCard is the standard format for exporting contact information.

The export to vCard format uses vCard 3.0, which is IETF standard contained in RFC 2425. http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2425 and RFC 2426 http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2426

Android CardDav cannot sync organizations, position and notes fields

When you add a new contact on your Android device, Web Mail supports the following fields and field lengths. If you exceed the supported field lengths, the additional characters are not displayed in your Web Mail contact information.

• Surname: 50 characters. Given Name data is lost if this limit is exceeded.
• Given Name: 50 characters
• Phone: 50 characters
• Email: 50 characters
• Address: 50 characters

The same item is recorded twice in corporate directory

If you have authorization to import corporate contacts, before you import corporate contacts, verify that your account administrator used the Web Mail import process to import existing corporate contacts. If your administrator used another import method, you might see duplicate entries when importing corporate contacts.

Displaying more than 3000 members returns a 504 timeout error

An administrative group cannot have more than 2000 members. When an administrator adds more than 2000 members, the system returns an error message to indicate that the limit has been exceeded.

Workaround
Create more than 1 administrative group with the same configuration when there is a need for having over 2000 members.

CardDAV responding with 403 response codes for PUT and PROPFIND for users that have any capital letters in their user name (email address)

When setting up a CardDAV account, the user must have their Web Mail email address, which is the email address assigned to their account. The user needs an email address containing only lower case letters. Using an email address with upper case letters might cause errors when setting up a CardDAV account.

Unsupported field data lost on Android contact

When adding contact information on an Android device, if the user wants to add a non-standard vCard field, Web Mail cannot capture the field after synchronizing with the device.

The added field set on the mobile device is overwritten after synchronizing with Web Mail.

[CardDAV] Data incomplete after sync from Android to server if characters in the field>80

When adding a new contact on your Android device, Web Mail supports the following fields and field lengths. If you exceed the supported field lengths, the additional characters are not displayed in your Web Mail contact information. If you exceed the total character limit, none of the contact information for the new contact is synchronized with Web Mail.

Surname: 70 characters. Given Name data is lost if this limit is exceeded.
Given Name: 70 characters
Phone: 63 characters
Email: 61 characters
Address: 53 characters

Manual browser cache refresh required when theme is changed

If your IBM Representative or your administrator changes the theme used by Connections Cloud, you must manually refresh your browser cache (Ctrl+F5) to see the changes. Without a manual refresh, the new theme is not displayed until your browser cache expires, which requires approximately 20 minutes. Logging out and logging back in does not resolve this issue.

Security considerations when connecting to Web Mail

For security reasons, do not use SSL 2.0, anonymous SSL ciphers, medium strength SSL ciphers and weak SSL ciphers to connect with the
Web Mail services. Use SSL 3.0 and stronger forms of ciphers.

Recommended browser usage for accessing account

Do not simultaneously open multiple browser sessions or browser tabs for the same account . Only initiate one browser session or only use one browser tab for a single account.

Welcome letter language is determined by the account administrator setting up the account

When a new user is added to Web Mail, that new user receives a Welcome letter in the language that is set by the account administrator adding the user.

Unexpected results can occur when using the Back button in your browser

Using the Back button in your browser can result in an unexpected error message being displayed. This can occur after certain delete or update operations.

Workaround:
Select another option or menu item on the screen to exit the current window and display a new window.

Protection for your account

In order to protect your account against abuse, only 5000 new email messages can be received while you are not logged in to your account. Additional email messages will be returned to the sender until you log in to your account again.

Using Skype with Web Mail

If you have a Skype plug-in running while you are logged into Web Mail, the email address that displays when you reply to or create email messages might not be correct. Specifically, text such as 'begin_of_the_skype_highlighting' and 'end_of_the_skype_highlighting' might be displayed in the To:, cc:, or bcc: fields.

Workaround
Delete the extra characters in the To:, cc:, or bcc: fields that are not part of the email address.

One-time password behavior when accessing Web Mail non-web protocol

When your account administrator sets a one-time password for you, you must change that password after logging in to your Web Mail account via Web Access. However, when you try to access IMAP, POP and SMTP on Web Mail, you can use this one-time password to log in over and over again and you are not forced to change it.

Meetings

Java plugin needed for some users when application sharing

Most meetings users who want to share their screen or show an application in a meeting can now download and install the SmartCloud Webplayer. Gradually, the dependency on Java will be removed for all users by January, 2015.

Workaround: None

Chrome users not able to join PC Audio conference or are not able to perform Screen Capture (143335)

It has been recently announced by Google that new releases of their browsers will automatically block the NPAPI based plugins (Netscape Plugin-in Application Programming Interface). By end of 2014, NPAPI support will be completely removed from the Chrome as posted in the website here ->http://www.chromium.org/developers/npapi-deprecation

You will be unable to join the PC Audio conference in the Connections Cloud Meetings and will not be able to perform the Screen Capture from Connections Cloud Chat. On Chrome, every time the browser page with Meetings loaded, you will be asked to install the plugin and will not be allowed to join the meetings.

Workaround 1
: Use an older version of the Chrome browser, which is not affected. Depending on your organization policies, you can turn off automatic updates for your browser and use the version that is supported for Connections Cloud for Social Business.

Workaround 2
: Use the Standalone Installer to install the Connections Cloud WebPlayer. Download the standalone installer from the Meetings (New) dashboard page.
After the installation, the user can access the meeting room and use the Audio Video conference or access the WebChat with the ScreenCapture feature.

Workaround 3:
You have to manually reinstall and enable plugin every time you open Chrome browser, before entering the meeting room. Follow the steps for doing the same.

First time Install and Access from Chrome browser

Some content or controls in the Meetings web client can be covered up depending on the screen resolution, the size of the browser window, or the zoom level used in the browser. In these situations, scrollbars or buttons may not be seen in the available browser window area.

Workaround
The size of the sidebar and/or its components can be resized by tabbing to splitters in between these components and using the arrow keys to alter their size. For example, to make the Library component bigger so that you can see the items listed within it, tab to the splitter area above the Library (between the Participants List and the Library) and use the "up" arrow key to make the Library bigger (and the Participants List smaller). You can also tab into each component and use the arrow keys to scroll through the list of items, in case the browser is unable to render a scroll bar due to size or zoom level.

OS X Screen Sharing with Firefox - Sametime reports Java is not installed when Firefox is run in 32-bit mode (104937)

Sametime might incorrectly report that Java is not available/installed when attempting to screen share on Mac OS X with the Firefox browser. If Java is correctly installed, this might be due to Firefox being run in "32-bit" mode. Oracle's Java Runtime plugin for OS X is 64-bit only and requires that the containing browser be run in 64-bit mode, as well.
Workaround:
Run Firefox in 64-bit mode. Right-click on "Firefox.app" and select "Get Info". Make sure that the "Open in 32-bit mode" option is unchecked.

(Mac OS X) Screen sharing remote control and "stuck" keyboard keys (93744)

When screen sharing remote control on a Mac OS X, the Control Key might appear "stuck" after performing a "Control + Left Mouse Click" operation.
When sharing a screen, if a user controlling a shared OS X system performs a "Control + Left Mouse Click" (secondary click), the Control key might stay in a pressed state. This causes subsequent "Left Mouse Clicks" to incorrectly inject a "Control + Left Mouse Click".
Workaround:
To clear the Control Key state after experiencing this issue, press either the "Escape" or "Alt" keys.

(Mac OS X) Some screen share remote control keys unavailable. (93734)

Some platform-specific keyboard keys do not work or are unavailable when using Screen Sharing Remote Control between different operating systems:
Microsoft's "Windows Key" does not exist on Apple's keyboards.
Apple's "Command/Apple Key" does not exist on Window's keyboards.
When using Screen Sharing Remote Control between two platforms with keyboard keys that have no equivalent counterpart the keys will be ignored.
For example, when driving a Mac OS X system from a Windows system:
The controlling user will not be able to inject the "Command/Apple Key" as that key does not exist on a Windows keyboard.
If the controlling user presses the "Windows Key" it will have no effect on the remote OS X system as it has no equivalent key.
Workaround:
None.

(Windows) Sharing a "A currently running application" on some Lenovo laptops fails with participants seeing a "greyed out" area. (99841)

Screen Sharing "a currently running application" on some Lenovo laptops fails. Meeting participants will see a "greyed out" area instead of the actual application being shared. The other Screen Sharing options ("the entire screen" or "a resizable rectangular frame") work normally.

This is due to Lenovo's "TouchZone" application which utilizes a top-level transparent window that technically occludes all other application windows.
Workaround:
Disable the Lenovo "TouchZone" application prior to Screen Sharing an application or choose one of the other two Sharing options.

When Microsoft PowerPoint file is shared, the line spacing widens and the content does not fit into a page (82717)

When uploading a Microsoft PowerPoint file into a Meetings (New) meeting, some issues might occur that cause the display in the meeting to not exactly match the original file. These issues might be due to limitations in the software used to convert the PowerPoint file into images. It might also be due to the availability of specific fonts on the Meeting server.

The last page can not be shared when sharing a partially converted doc (104085)

When uploading a large document into the meeting room library, it is possible that the entire document will not convert if the conversion takes longer than the specified conversion time-out value. If this time-out is reached, all of the pages that were converted within that time period will be available to share. However, there is a possibility that the last page converted will not be able to be shared, and will appear as a broken image.

Awareness and share function can not work after restore network (81354)

If a user is sharing their screen and loses their connection to the server, the meetng room could end up in an unexpected state, even after reconnecting. Up until the server detects that the network disconnected, the viewers see the last screen update that was shared. After that, they see the userleave the meeting, and sharing stops. After the user reconnects, however, the red Stop Sharing button still displays, even though the user is no longer sharing.
If the user reconnected before the server detected that the user was disconnected, can click the Stop Sharing button to get back to a normal state.
If the server already detected that the user was disconnected, clicking Stop Sharing will not do anything.
Workaround:

Raise hand popup is in the way of the Room Tools button (82058)

When a participant in the meeting room clicks the "Raise My Hand" button, an indicator of the raised hand is shown next to the user's name in the Participants List. However, since users can optionally choose the view that hides the Participants List by maximizing the size of the sharing area (which therefore also hides the raised-hand indicators in the Participants List ) a small, temporary hand-raise indicator pop-up is also displayed in the lower right-hand corner of the meeting room. Note that while that pop-up indicator is displayed (about 2 seconds) it hides the "Room Tools" button.
Workaround:
Wait for the hand-raise indicator pop-up to automatically dismiss before you can click the "Room Tools" button.

Trying to add a file to library when a file is already being uploaded by same user does not inform user that the file has been added to queue (82057)

Due to browser limitations, the Meetings (New) meetings can only upload one document at a time to a meeting room Library. While a document is being uploaded, the user can add an additional document to the Library. However, this second document will not begin uploading until the first document upload is complete. Currently there is no visual feedback indicating that a second document is queued for upload.
Workaround:
None.

Cannot share a text (.txt) file. (87321)

Text files are not supported in Meetings (New) meetings for "conversion" and sharing in the meeting room. However, text files - like other file types except .HTM and .HTML files - can still be uploaded into a meeting room for others to access by downloading, if this action is allowed by the meeting room owner.
Workaround:
Paste the text that you want to share during a meeting in to another file type (such as .RTF, .DOC, .ODT, .PPT, etc.) which are supported for shared viewing.

Shared frame stops responding to controls (103257)

If you share a "resizable rectangular frame" (a portion of your screen) in a meeting, and either minimize or maximize the shared frame, the shared frame's window controls stop working. If you maximize the shared frame, or minimize it and then restore it, you can no longer move or resize the shared frame, nor can you click on the minimize, maximize or close buttons. This is a problem on Windows systems using an Aero theme.
Workaround:
Stop sharing. This removes the shared frame. Then you can start sharing again.

However, if the room owner chooses to generate a meeting report during an ongoing meeting, the report shows the Departure time as the current time for all users still in the meeting.
Workaround:
End the meeting, then generate the report.

Screen sharing will not function as expected on a Linux client if the required system libraries are not installed (110446)

When using a Linux client to screen share in a meeting, if the Sharing Dialog displays as empty, or if it is not possible to successfully start a screen share, then the client might be missing system packages necessary for screen share to work correctly.
Workaround:
1. Open a Terminal
2. CD to the Sametime Native Libraries directory. "cd ˜˜/SametimeMeetings/NativeLibraries/"
3. Run the "ldd" command on the ".so" and ".executable" binaries that are located in that folder. "ldd asnat*"
4. The output displayed will indicate if any of the required libraries are missing. Refer to your Linux Distro's documentation for help in locating and installing the missing libraries.

Stored Application Password stops working (145591)

Traveler users are reporting that synching with Mail services stops working. This synch process is enabled by the use of an Application Password that is stored on the mobile device. IBM Development and Support are actively working to resolve this issue.
Workaround
The original Application Password is likely still valid but is not being routed to the Authentication service correctly. If the user still has the original Application Password, they can re-enter that 16 digit Application Password on their device and the problem should resolve. If that Application Password is not available or re-entering does not work, the user should:
- revoke the original Application Password
- generate a new Application Password
- use the new Application Password with their mobile device
The details for these procedures can be found here: https://apps.na.collabserv.com/help/topic/com.ibm.cloud.scnotes.doc/use_manage_application_passwords_t.html

Workaround: Send links in individual chat windows.

The Web chat window is not visible the second time a user receives a message (55040) Note: This option is not available to all users.

When a Web chat contact list is minimized and you get a message from another user, a new chat window pops up initially but once you minimize the contact list and the chat window, it will not pop up nor blink after second message you receive from that user. The "New Message" statement appears in the status bar, but when there are multiple chat windows open you do not know which window the new message applies to.

Workaround: None

Web chat automatically restarts when a user redisplays their My Dashboard page after logging out from web chat (56343) Note: This option is not available to all users.

Using an Internet Explorer browser, the web chat contact list automatically restarts when you log out from the Sametime service (but stay logged in to IBM Connections Cloud) and open My Dashboard. This can occur in the following scenario:

1. Log in to the Sametime client.
2. Log in to IBM Connections Cloud with the same user credentials as step 1.
3. Wait until web chat automatically starts and log in to the web chat server.
Note that this action logs you out of the Sametime client from step 1.
4. Repeat step 1.
Note that this action logs you out of the web chat from step 3.
5. Close the web chat window.
6. Open an app such as Activities or Files.
7. Click "My Dashboard" and wait a few seconds.

The web chat window restarts again and you are forced out from the Sametime client. However, this action does not reoccur if you now repeat steps 4 to 7.

Workaround: None

For non-standard Windows themes, associated font settings may cause incorrect auto-scrolling of new web chat events for the sender and receiver (55459)

Windows themes may yield an unexpected web chat font size and prevent new message from scrolling properly.

Workaround: Change to Windows standard themes using Display Properties: Windows Classic or Windows XP.

Cannot change font style in group chat window for a web chat (61935)

Using group chat with Web chat, no rich text features are available. Therefore you cannot change the font style. This is expected behavior as this is not supported in a group chat.

Workaround: None

Web chat: Messages not received with popup blocker enabled (96171)

If a message is sent to a user with popups blocked for the web chat domain, the sender will not be given any indication that the recipient did not receive their message.
Workaround: Configure popup blockers to allow popups from the web chat domain.

Connections Cloud web chat: File Transfer feature is disabled for J3 users until File Transfer Journalling is in place (131274)

J3 web chat users will be unable to transfer files to their chat partner for the January release, until Journalling is complete.

Workaround: None

LLC1: Emotes not appearing correctly when sent to notes client user (103204 )

When sending emotes from a webchat user in LLC1 to a notes client user with embedded sametime, emotes do not translate to images when sent either as shortcuts or from the palette. Sending emotes from notes client sametime to webchat works fine.

Workaround: None

Sametime rich client supports SSL SAML only (137516)

If you are using a Sametime rich client with SAML support, the client supports an SSL SAML authentication server only. If you are using a non-SSL authentication server, users cannot login to a Sametime server with the rich client.

Workaround: None

Announcements not showing message that date and time have expired (155606)

If adding an announcement and select a date or time that has already passed the warning message that the 'Announcement has Expired" no longer appears, it just saves the announcement as disabled

Workaround: Removed invalid announcement and readd with valid date & time.

Announcements that are edited and 'Save and Enable' is hit is creating a second announcement (155607)

If the admin edits an announcement (which has being created with an expired date and / or time see defect 155606) and clicks 'Save' this saves the changes on the announcement, the issue here is that is the admin edits the announcement and clicks 'Save and Enable' it is creating a second announcement with the new changes

    Unyte Events

    Error on Step 5 of 8 (49070)

The following issue only applies to Unyte Events and not to Connections Cloud Events.
Currently Unyte Events supports events duration of up to 23 hours. For example, a start time of 9am and an end time of 8am indicates that the event will end at 8am the following day.
However if you create an Event and select the same end time as the start time (i.e. 9am start time and 9am end time), when you proceed to Step 5 of 8 (Registration preview) the application displays the following error: "A problem has occurred while attempting to process your request.".

    Workaround
    Create a new Event

    Error on Step 5 of 8 (55134)

The following issue only applies to Unyte Events and not to Connections Cloud Events.
When creating an Event, if you select a date and time for the Event that is in the past, then go back and correct your choice to indicate a future date, when you proceed to Step 5 of 8 (Registration preview) the application displays the following error: "A problem has occurred while attempting to process your request".
This happened because the validation failed the first time when the initial date and time was in the past even though you later selected a valid date.

    Workaround
    Create a new Event
