Question: Can the Firefox 3.6 browser be used with LotusLive Meetings to both host/start application sharing as well as view an application sharing session as a participant?
Solution: Yes, the LotusLive Meetings conference plugin is now supported to run on Firefox 3.6 (Windows). If you have a previous version of the plugin installed, it will need to be updated by downloading and installing the updated conference plugin
. After installing the updated plugin, it should now be possible to both start/Host new application sharing sessions in a meeting as well as view application sharing sessions as a participant.
Note: After installing the updated conference plugin, if either of the following problems are displayed:
1. When trying to start/host a new application sharing session, a message pops up asking to install the plugin.
2. When trying to view the hosts application sharing session as a participant you get a black or blank screen.
Most likely a previous version of the conference plugin had been disabled in Firefox, leaving the updated version still in the disabled state. To enable the updated plugin:
1. From Firefox 3.6, select the Tools menu
2. Select the Add-ons menu.
3. Select the IBM Conference 821 plugin
4. Click the Enable button.
Application sharing should now work correctly.
