Great work. I tried this in 8.5.2. I had a few small issues in finding relevance to the pictures posted here, but they were simple and I was able to do it. Thanks again, you have helped me open my eyes into composite apps wiring...

Is it possible to pass a preference with the cai url?

e.g. cai://?pagealias=First Page&mypref=SampleX

I want to read this preference in a Eclipse view with

String[] values = data.getPreference("com.ibm.portal.app.input.mypref");

It's a very useful tutorial - thanks a lot.

But now I have a little problem:

Is it possible to extend the cai url to pass dynamically preferences?

For example: cai://?pagealias=Page1&mypref=sampleX

I want to use this preference within a Eclipse view.

Is there anyway to open application normally and then on some button open its composite application skin? I tried this URL in many combinations, but I am still getting "can't open cai application from url ..." error.

The tutorial works very fine (based on the concept I designed similar application) , but with the Windows 7 R85.2 Client the action"cai://?pagealias=Page2" does not work. Windows generates the message"no programm is associated with the action"

Thanks for Your hints.

The outline as navigator is suitable for improvement of Notesapplication integrating Browser and spreadsheet without changing the GUI layout.

But what if I have many forms in the database and while I want to open them on composite page I don't want to create page for every of them - all of them will be same and it will just slow down the application...

It was a problem of Lotus Notes

It sounds like Lotus Notes did not install completely and the CAI protocol did not get registered in the system registry.

Re-install Lotus 8.5.2 fix the problem (thanks Bob!!!)

Drag and drop APIs for use in composite applications

I would like to know is it possible to do drag and drop in Lotus Notes in this way: Drag an email to the lotus notes sidebar (the sidebar shows folder hierarchy). When the email is dragged to the specific folder, the email will be saved to that particular directory.
