Composite applications for Notes are stored within the NSF application. They follow the same rules as all other objects in a notes application, for example Replication.
If you have created your composite application as an XML file (CA XML) you need to import it into the notes NSF. To do this the steps are.
1. Open the database in designer.
2. Navigate to Composite Applications view.
3. Navigate to the Applications and use the Import XML button (see image below).
4. Select your XML file to import and click ok.
Once you have created your composite application NSF there are two ways of deploying it on the server for consumption by the users.
Deploying a self contained NSF application.
This is where your NSF database which contains all the data, views, forms, etc, also contains the composite application.
It is possible to store more then one composite application in the same NSF however this is normally not done.
Deploying a Composite Application only NSF.
This form of application only contains the composite application code and points to other databases contained on the server. This method of deployment is preferred if you have a number of legacy applications that you do not wish to dramatically alter.
