I attended Lotusphere 08 and was extremely interested in what they had planned for Dom.Doc. We have it installed and planned a wider adoption.
Well...I learned that they were going to support the product for 5 years, build one more release that would fix some bugs and probably be supported on R8, and then offer a migration path of Dom.Doc and onto Filenet or Quickr depending on the level of functionality you require. This was a bit of a shock, basically they are end of lifing the product.
This is useful information especially for us because we can now put a hold on projects using Dom.Doc and encourage them to use something else.
