Quickr 8.2, the current version, does support review and approval workflows and some other document management features (sometimes referred to as basic content services). Simply put, Quickr is not as comprehensive as DDM for document management specifically, and thus IBM is offering two distinct options:
1) The Quickr entitlements as a result of DDM licensing can be swapped at no charge for either ECM Collaboration Bundle products, both of which include an ECM license AND Quickr license. The ECM products are not based on Domino. The swap can be requested by an IBMer or Business Partner and is processed by the Quickr team.
2) Quickr will have some additional document management functionality added to it. The Quickr team is listening to the customers and wants to ensure needs are being adequately met.
If you truly need a robust Domino-based document management system, there are several full-featured systems available from IBM Business Partners. Each has its particular areas of strength.
I hope this helps clarify the product differentiation.
Sincerely,
