David J Goodchild 18.Aug.06 03:25 AM a Web browser Lotus Domino Document Manager Desktop Enabler7.0All Platforms
I'm currently testing a client's customised V3.1 templates in V7. I have been testing on one machine - i.e. server and client on the same laptop.
All has worked fine except when trying to test the desktop enabler access to the new templates. When creating a new document, if I click the profile button the Domino server crashes with a PANIC message:
Thread=[0F58:0011-0CEC]
Stack base=0x0E210090, Stack size = 31540 bytes
PANIC: Object handle out of range
I also saw this just before in the Notes Log (but could be a red herring):
HTTP Web Server: Function Not Implemented Exception [/domdoc/DomDocLib.nsf/?Login
The NSD file contained the line:
ERROR (0): exception(0): thread 858 got system exception: ACCESS_VIOLATION (3221225477)
With the Access Violation message I wondered if it was to do with using the server and client on the same machine. However I put a server on another machine and ensured I could access the test cabinet on the new machine via a browser (cabinet & library use Dom Doc default templates as a test) on the original machine (so it works fine via a browser). However the same crash happened when trying to open the profile on a new document via Enabler.
I see the following as possible:
1) Both machines are XP (server one is XP home, enabler XP pro). I realise these are not recommended in the server release notes however it seemed to be working fine!
2) More memory needed in the machines (both have 512Mb RAM)
However apart from that I've run out of ideas! I will set up a Win 2003 machine over the next few days but if anyone has any thoughts then do share them. If anyone needs any more log information then let me know.
