The future of Domino.Doc is always a question from day one. There was a long period that the web site of Domino.Doc had not been updated. Some of users even called IBM to verify the existence of the product. Recently, it seems that Quickr the the next version of Domino.Doc. However, you may find it is not a DMS in the nutshell.
Actually, the Domino platform is a perfect platform for DMS, its document security, full text search, rich text field, email integration and user directory are all born for the support of content and document management systems, including Domino.Doc, SDMS and other free Domino DMS (
http://sq.axisoft.net) Filing Domino based document to other non-Domino based DMS may cause the lost of document format and security. So I think IBM will continue to develop the successor of Domino.Doc or the value of the platform will be diminishing.
