There are currently many different styles of dialog boxes. It is not expected that you re-design existing dialog boxes; however, for any new dialog boxes that you do create, please follow these guidelines.
For left-to-right languages, design your dialogs so that they flow from top to bottom, left to right. Do not
on the “X” in the title bar for users to close or cancel a dialog—always provide a Cancel button as well.
Place command buttons at the bottom right or the top right, as shown in figures 1 and 2.

Ensure that users can get to every control in the dialog box without using the mouse (to ensure keyboard accessibility and to conform to accessibility legislation):
- Check that users can use the Tab key to move throughout the dialog
- Provide mnemonics for all labels (except OK and Cancel; OK should map to the Enter key, and Cancel should map to the Escape key.)
Domino Designer does not support the creation of Group boxes. Instead, use space to delineate groups. If you feel that a Group box would help users with your dialog box, place the Group box labels above the Group box as shown in figure 3.
