This exercise demonstrates how to use a selection formula to limit the documents in a view. For this purpose, you will create a new view.
By default the selection formula for a view is SELECT @All
which means that the view includes all documents in the application. You can modify the selection formula to limit the content of a view.
Parent topic: Your first view
- In the Application Navigator, right-click Views and select New View.
- Name the view Blue only.
- For Selection conditions, select By Formula.
- For the formula, change:
- Click Save and Customize.
- The Save and Customize button brings up the design for the new view.
Delete the first column and save the view. The reason you are deleting the first column is that you are limiting the view to one category value.
- Open the view in Notes®.
Notice that you see only the "blue" documents.
