A view reports document content and provides access to the documents.
®, a view has two basic functions:
- To report selected document content in rows and columns. Each row represents one document. Each column reports information about the document. This may be the value of a field in the document, but it may be other information such as a position or a date.
- To provide access to the underlying documents in the view.
You learn first how to modify the "default" view. This is like creating a new view because the default view is a placeholder.
Next you see how to open an application in the Notes
client. An application with just forms and views typically opens to one of the views allowing the user to see the application content.
You learn how to sort and categorize views, and to limit view content through selection formulas.
You also learn how to create an agent using the formula language.
