|Configure the NFS server side. All other nodes must point to this NFS server.
About this task
The variables below show the information needed to configure the NFS server with examples shown after the equals sign (=).

The SH, CH4L, and CH4W can be either the host name or IP address. It is best to use the host name. The following procedure is based on the following assumptions:
- docs_nfs is the userid under which your WebSphere® Application Server deployment on the Docs server is running. If deploying multiple Docs servers, each WebSphere Application Server deployment must use the same userid.
- 5050 is the UID for this user. This also must be the same if deploying multiple IBM® Docs servers.
- For example if your WebSphere Application Server is running under root on the IBM Docs server, then the UID must be 0 (root). If it is using some other userid, you must find the matching UID for that user.
Log in to the NFS server, and run the following commands. This example assumes the NFS server is being deployed on an IBM
Docs server node (RHEL 5.4+ Linux
™). If your NFS server is being hosted elsewhere, you must adapt this procedure.

- adduser -u 5050 docs_nfs
- mkdir -p <SMP>
- chown docs_nfs <SMP>
- chmod 755 <SMP>
- echo "<SMP> <CH4L>(insecure,rw,async,no_root_squash) <CH4W>(insecure,rw,async,no_root_squash)" /etc/exports
Note: If you need more NFS clients to access the NFS server, add more items, such as <CH4W>(insecure,rw,async,no_root_squash)
- /sbin/service portmap start
Note: On some Linux versions, portmap is replaced by rpcbind. Run /sbin/service rpcbind start instead.
- /sbin/service nfslock start
- /sbin/service nfs start
- Verify the exported mount points by /usr/sbin/showmount -e localhost.
File Viewer, repeat steps 2 through 5 with a separate share for Viewer. Ensure that the viewer share is not a subdirectory of the IBM
