To be able for Lotus-Notes 6 clients to be redirected using .nrf files (starting with Domino 8), you do have to replicate catalog.nsf database to all mail servers (home servers). Lotus-Notes 8 client can resolve the redirection, but it seems clients release 6 need to have the replica ID located into the catalog.nsf database. The catalog database needs to have - of course- the correct content and then be replicated to all Domino servers of the domain.
