Notes native encryption is not supported by BlackBerry Enterprise server version 4.0 or earlier.
This issue has been addressed in the BlackBerry Enterprise server software version 4.1 running on Domino 7.0. Notes native encryption is supported and enabled by default.
The following configuration is necessary to view IBM Lotus Notes encrypted messages:
- BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.1 or higher, but lower than 6.0.
- BlackBerry Enterprise Server is 4.1 or later for IBM Lotus Domino.
- IBM Lotus Notes Client is 7.0 or higher.
- IBM Lotus Domino Server is 7.0 or higher.
The BlackBerry device must be configured to turn on support for reading IBM Lotus Notes encrypted messages. The user must import their Notes ID into their mail file by using the Desktop Manager version 4.1 or higher and the Notes client must be 7.0 or higher.
The Notes ID can be imported through the Desktop Manager in the Email Settings.
Click the Advanced tab then click the Configure button.
Click the Security tab then click Import Notes ID.
Once your Notes ID has been imported, you will be able to view Notes encrypted messages on your BlackBerry device.
