Problem When you start a Lotus Domino 7 server, you see a task named DOMWS
Convert AddIn loading on the console after HTTP loads. You wish to prevent this
task from loading, as you do not need it for your Domino environment. (This
task is necessary if using the Common PIM portlets that are part of WebSphere
Portal 5.x. It is also required for Web Services to run properly deployed on a
Domino server. If the task is disabled, then Web Services cannot be accessed
from a SOAP-enabled client.)
You verify that the XML Services field on the "Domino Web Agent" tab is set
disabled, but the task still loads.
Solution To prevent the task from loading, in addition to updating the
document you must also add the following parameter in the notes.ini of the
The next time you start the server, the DOMWS task will not load.
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# LSHR6FBPF9 and fixed in
Domino 7.0.1. Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading
Notes/Domino. To prevent the task from loading in 7.0.1, you need only set XML
Services to Disabled.
The notes.ini value is no longer required.
Problem: You are attempting to access a IBM Lotus Domino mail file through
Common Personal Information Management (PIM) Portlets in IBM WebSphere Portal
5.1.x. The Domino Update for CPP corresponding to your Domino version is
Whenever you attempt to connect to the mail file using one of the CPPs the
following error message appears in the portlet:
"Unknown error (CLHAG0017E: Internal error sending http request: 404 - Not
Found). Click the Edit icon in the title bar and check your settings. If you
are unable to correct the problem, contact your system administrator."
Solution In order for the Common PIM Portlets (Common Mail Portlet and Common
Calendar Portlet) to run properly, the DOMWS Convert Addin task must be running
on the Domino mail and application server that supports it. This task is not
enabled by default.
To enable the DOMWS Convert Addin task the following parameter must be added
the Notes.ini file on the Domino Server:
To determine whether the parameter is present, perform a Show Tasks command
the Domino Server console. If you do not see the following listed among the
Server tasks, the parameter is not present.

If you need to add the HTTPDomWSAppSpace=1 parameter to the Notes.ini, the
Domino Server must be restarted.

the Configuration Settings document in the Domino Directory.
