UPDATE_IDLE_TIME & UPDATE_IDLE_TIME_MS
Added by Harry Peebles, last edited by Harry Peebles on 05/01/2008
IBM provided information

This page has been reviewed and is maintained by IBM. Comments are welcome, but the information is not editable.

Explanation:
The 'UPDATE_IDLE_TIME' setting in NOTES.INI controls the activity rate of the Update task. Seconds are the unit of time.

The 'UPDATE_IDLE_TIME_MS' setting overrides any value of 'UPDATE_IDLE_TIME'. Milliseconds are the unit of time.

Default:

When absent or set to 0, the behavior is equivalent to setting UPDATE_IDLE_TIME to 5 (seconds)

Recommendation:

Setting this option to some value less than 5 seconds is likely to impose unnecessarily high CPU demands.
Setting this option greater than 5 seconds is likely to improve server responsiveness.

Restarts:

Update task restart required.

Related Settings:

UPDATE_DISABLE_FULLTEXT, UPDATE_NO_FULLTEXT, UPDATE_NOTE_MINIMUM
