Using bookmarks in the Notes Browser Plug-in
When you install the IBM Notes Browser Plug-in, and use it for the first time, all the bookmarks stored in your bookmark.nsf file in Notes are transferred to the current browser's bookmarks ("Favorites"
in Internet Explorer, "Bookmarks"
in Firefox), under a new folder titled "Notes Applications"
. As you start to work in the IBM Notes Browser Plug-in, and bookmark additional Notes content inside the Notes Browser Plug-in, we recommend you add it under this folder. This will ensure that it will get synchronized with your bookmark.nsf file.
- Notes bookmarks are stored in the Bookmarks -> Notes Applications folder.
- Internet Explorer
- Notes bookmarks are stored in the Favorites -> Notes Applications folder.
The folder "Notes Applications"
is created in the browser bookmarks/favorites list only after completion of initial user set-up/configuration.Following are some examples of URLs you can use:
Notes URL Syntax: Notes://[optional server]/[required database]
Standard client installed with Notes Browser Plug-in option
The bookmarks will be synchronized between the Notes Standard client and the Notes Browser Plug-in. For example, when you create, delete, or modify Notes bookmarks in the browser - bookmarks under "Notes Applications"
- those changes will be reflected in your Notes Standard client when you launch it, and vice versa. The synchronization happens when you open any Notes content inside the Notes Browser Plug-in.
Roaming Users with Notes Browser Plug-in
For roaming users, since the Notes Browser Plug-in synchronizes bookmarks between the browser's bookmarks and the Notes bookmark.nsf file, roaming data replication will ensure the bookmarks are also properly roamed to different systems accessed by the roaming user. Once roaming replication is complete, bookmarks will be properly reflected in the Notes Browser Plug-in, or in the Notes Standard client.
