Charles E. Robinson 6.Jan.06 12:10 PM a Web browser LC LSX LC LSX - All Releases Linux
I posted about this more than a month ago and ended up opening a Lotus support ticket on 12/2/2005, but haven't had much luck in getting anything working.
I have a Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4 server running Domino 7. In a scheduled agent I need to connect from this to an iSeries DB2/400 database. I have installed the DataDirect 5.1 evaluation ODBC drivers and verified connectivity with dctest. I also have, but have not tested, a "branded" version of these drivers, which my support rep assures me is nothing more than the DataDirect drivers with some licensing information attached. He has asked me not to try them until someone can determine why the drivers from DataDirect aren't working.
The problem is an agent that uses the ODBC driver will crash the server. The crash always happens at some point while reading data out of the LCFieldlist, and rarely at the same point. I have verified this happens on a physical RHAS server and in VMWare running on my workstation.
To make it even more interesting, sometimes the agent will run to completion numerous times then crash the server when run again, even if I restart the RHAS server between the runs to eliminate any memory caching issues. Multiple agents that use the same connection code and do essentially the same thing may run sometimes and not others.
I realize this is likely a pretty low level thing, but if anyone can give me any tips I would greatly appreciate it. Bear in mind this is pure LC LSX, no DECS or LEI. My situation is getting desperate and I am extremely frustrated by the lack of response from IBM/Lotus. I have new hardware to run RHAS 4 and Domino on, and the iSeries I currently run Domino on is being sent back to IBM at the end of January. I have about 80 applications with more than 100 agents to test before then and without an ODBC driver I'm facing a migration to Windows instead of linux, which is not the direction I want to take. If anyone at IBM/Lotus is reading this it is PMR 72502,499.
