We are deploying a plugin by using the widget extension.xml strategy. The target Lotus Notes 8.5 clients are not notified when a new version is deployed to the update site unless they have set com.ibm.notes.branding/enable.update.ui=true and enable auto update check which then is available in preferences. This is too technical for Average Joe. Is there another way to tell Lotus Notes to look for updates? Eg is it possible to configure this in extension.xml?
