Hi Gerry,
Unfortunately this is a limitation of Notes at the current time. The reason your keyboard shortcuts do not work when composing an email is because XPD/Eclipse is never receiving the key strokes. This is because the core Notes process (c++) is receiving them instead. We have created an SPR for this problem.
