I haven't ever had time to do this - I was given it as a suggestion which I passed on to you!!
After installing the hadless app, have you got an icon (shortcut) for it in the Xpd folder? I had assumed that it would be there.
I was told that the only way to see the Startup folder on a device is to use ActiveSync, open a browser view and then you can copy the headless app's shortcut to Startup.
If you didn't get a shortcut created, it is either due to there being an error such as a dependent plugin missing, or because one does not get created for headless apps. In the past I have copied a working shortcut from the device and manually edited it in Wwindows so that it will start my app (and copied it to the Xpd folder. You could try that (note: the numeric value in the shortcut refers to the icon displayed for the shortcut )
