I recently got an ipad at home and have been using the mail client to get my yahoo, gmail, and Notes mail there. It's a pretty simple app, of course, and got me to thinking: Why am I wasting all that space with a left navigator? I use it maybe once a year to go to "all documents" or Sent to look for something. I don't put anything in folders, either.
So, I made the navigator smaller, did a "Preview on the side" and narrowed the view so it was "just right".
The result.
Now, I'm not pretending that you have an instant iPad-like app, but for mail usage, it works great for me and I haven't really missed that left navigator! I can still access different views via the icons on the left if I need to. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
