Inside Mobile Design and User Experience

developerWorks
Thoughts on mobile and social business applications, design, and user experience, by Chris Reckling.

We've been busy in mobile-land this year and you've already seen some of the results - in July IBM Connections apps were released to the Apple appstore, Android Marketplace, and Blackberry App World. Tyler Walters led the design effort with help from Michelle Cooper doing some user testing and providing quick feedback.

Yesterday, we posted the LotusLive Meetings app for Android devices. You can download it now. It also works on a tablet in 'stretched' compatibility mode. In other words, we didn't optimize for the larger screen size, Android does a decent job of filling the screen (unlike the 2X mode on iPads).

In addition to being able to view a presentation, you can also watch a screen-sharing session. Other features include participating in meeting chats and the ever-popular hand-raise.

Very handy, indeed, and more to come in the future, which I cannot talk about yet. :)
