Inside Mobile Design and User Experience

Thoughts on mobile and social business applications, design, and user experience, by Chris Reckling.

I took a bunch of pics for Ed and Scott's Oral History of Notes, which was a great session yesterday....a lot of fun and memories. Lotus Support first started using Notes to replace our paper-based CSR (Customer Service Report) system - I think it was R3. I joined Notes Product Mgmt to work on Domino Designer 4.5/4.6 as it transitioned into the internet age. (Also worked with Ned on DXL during those first years. Major decision DXL or DXML - :) )

Anyway, that's my oral history beginning and now I get to push Lotus forward again with IBM Project Vulcan. More on that later, when I get a chance to write it up. Suffice it to say, that's why I didn't blog too much the last 6 months!

Back to the main part of the post, more pics from my wanderings around the building to give to Ed for his session.
Some of the real live boxes from the R5 era.

The "Iris Lounge" area on the second floor. Those framed items there are signatures from R5, 6, 7, and 8 from the teams who worked on it. I may have this completely wrong, but legend has it that during the endgame for R5 there were some last minute issues to attend to into in the wee hours, but when it was finally declared 'gold', the champagne cork hit the ceiling tile. Then everyone signed it and got cabs home later...

And here's another pic from the Iris Lounge area. Elvis is in the house!

I have a few more pictures for a later time. Time to get back out there for a few more hours!
