S1: Preinstallation tasks 

There are a number of preinstallation tasks that must be completed prior to installing Lotus^® Connections 2.5. Prerequisites are discussed in detail in S1: Prerequisites at the beginning of this document. Links are also provided to get additional information on each of these prerequisite tasks.

Prerequisite tasks are as follows:  

• Set up Microsoft^® Active Directory LDAP server, which stores user information.
• Install WebSphere^® Application Server Network Deployment on the three machines to be used as node 1, node 2, and the deployment manager respectively, including installation of the required fix packs.
• Set up the IBM^® HTTP Server and enable it for SSL.
• Set up Microsoft SQL Server to host Lotus Connections databases.
• Set upTivoli^® Directory Integrator 6.1, including fix pack 6 on the database machine for profiles data population.
• Set up the Lotus Domino^® e-mail server for notifications.
