S2: Preinstallation tasks 

There are a number of preinstallation tasks that must be completed prior to installing Lotus^® Connections 2.5. It is assumed that these tasks are completed prior to beginning this installation. These tasks are discussed in detail in the S2: Prerequisites article at the beginning of this document. Links are also provided to get additional information on each of these prerequisite tasks.

To summarize these tasks:

• Install and configure WebSphere Application Server 6.1 Network Deployment on the three node machines and deployment manager machine.
• Install the IBM HTTP Server (IHS), including the WebSphere plug-ins and fix packs and then enable IHS for SSL.
• Prepare Oracle 10.2.0.4 with eight databases to host Lotus Connections.
• Prepare IBM Tivoli Directory Server 6.1 LDAP Server, which stores user information.
• Install Tivoli Directory Integrator 6.1 including fix pack 6 on the database machine for profiles data population.
• Install and prepare Lotus Quickr services for WebSphere Portal 8.1.1.
• Install and prepare the Lotus Domino Server 8 for notifications.
• Install and prepare the Lotus Sametime Server.
