S2: Setting up the Web server 

To set up the Web server, you must complete a number of tasks. The following guidelines assume that IBM^® HTTP Server 6.1 is installed and upgraded to a fix pack 23 level. It is also assumed that the plug-ins for WebSphere^® Application Server are installed and upgraded to a fix pack 23 level.

1. Add the HTTP server to the deployment manager as an unmanaged node. To do so, follow these steps:
   
   a. On the deployment manager, select System Administration > Nodes and then select Add Node.
   
   b. On the next window, select Unmanaged Node and then click Next.
   
   c. Type a name for the server and its host name. Then select a platform type as shown.
   
   
   
   
   d. Click OK to save the changes.
   
   
2. Add the HTTP Server to the list of servers on the DM. To do so, follow these steps:
   
   a. Click Servers > Web servers and then select New.
   
   
   
   b. Select the node on which the Web server is installed and name it webserver1.
   
   c. Select Next on the next page, Web Server Template.
   
   d. Enter the properties of the Web server as shown. It is very important to ensure that the Web server installation location and plug-in installation location are correct:
   
   
   
   e. The next page is a summary window. Click Finish to add the Web server. You are now be able to control the Web server from the deployment manager. To test this, use the deployment manager to start and stop the Web server.
   
   
3. Configure the HTTP server plug-ins.
   
   a. On the deployment manager, select Servers > Web servers. The list of Web servers appears. In this case, there is only one.
   
   
   
   b. Select the check box next to webserver1 and click Generate Plug-in.
   
   c. With the check box still selected, click Propagate Plug-in to copy the plug-in file to the Web server. This action copies the plugin-cfg.xml file to the /opt/IBM/HTTPServer/Plugins/config/webserver1 directory on the HTTP server machine.
