DEPRECATED API - Refer to OpenSocial Microblogging APIs for new development work.

This API is deprecated. These APIs are still functional for backward compatibility reasons - but no new feature is surfaced through these APIs. For any new development work, refer to the OpenSocial Microblogging APIs.

Add a comment to someone's status or add a comment as a response to a message that someone else added to your message board.

Provide a comment Atom entry document. The content type of the Atom entry document must be application/atom+xml.


An Atom entry document containing the new comment.

Link to edit_url of the message board entry. You can use the web address specified here to subsequently retrieve and update the comment.


Method URI Description
POST /profiles/atom/mv/theboard/ Value of the href attribute of the <link> element with the rel="replies" attribute value found in the message entry.

Name Type Optional Description
string No Value of the entry for the comment.
Code Description
Indicates that the comment was successfully created.
Bad Request. Returned when no matching user record can be found.
Unauthorized. Returned when no authenticated user or no userid, email, or key parameter are provided on the request.
