Important note: The News Repository APIs have been deprecated from the 4.0 release. These APIs are still functional for backward compatibility reasons - but no new feature is surfaced through these APIs. For any new development work, please refer to the OpenSocial Activity Stream APIs.

Getting a feed of all public updates
Get a feed that lists the latest updates that relate to public content. The most recent updates are listed first in the resulting feed.

Getting a feed of saved updates
Get a feed that lists the updates that have been saved by the user who authenticates the request. The most recent updates are listed first in the resulting feed.

Getting the top updates
Get a feed that lists the top updates. The resulting feed includes updates about events in which the authenticated user is involved. The most recent updates are listed first in the resulting feed.

Getting a person's updates
Get a feed that lists the latest updates created by a specific person. The most recent updates are listed first in the resulting feed.

Getting a feed of community updates
Get a feed that lists the stories related to the specific community. The community must be one that can be accessed by the authenticated user. Unlike the News feed, the authenticated user does not have to be following the given community and unlike the Discovery feed, this feed can return stories for a private community, as long as the authenticated user has access to them. There is no equivalent user interface view for this feed.

Getting a feed of News Feed updates
Get a feed that lists the updates from content that the currently authenticated user is following and responses to content that the person has posted. This feed returns the same information available from the News Feed view in the Home Page application user interface. The most recent updates are listed first in the resulting feed.

Getting a feed of status updates
Get a feed that lists the status updates from the people who the authenticated user is following or who are in the authenticated user's network. You can also update the profile status of the authenticated user. This feed returns the same information available from the Status Updates view in the Home Page application user interface. The most recent updates are listed first in the resulting feed.
