Blogs implement the Atom Syndication Format (Atom 1.0) to provide Atom feeds that you can use in your applications to search for and retrieve information from any of the blogs created by the people in your organization.

You can create a software program or feed reader that can use the subscription feeds to retrieve information from Blogs. Directly query any blog for the information that you are interested in. The subscription APIs are open to any user; authentication is not required. All of the subscription resources support the HTTP GET method, except as noted. If you want your application to create or update information in a blog, see Using the Blogs publishing API instead.

You can perform the following tasks using the subscription APIs:
Getting data from all of the blogs
Use the Atom subscription API to retrieve resources from all of the blogs hosted by the Blogs application.

Getting data from an individual blog
Use the Atom subscription API to retrieve resources from a specific blog.
